Here  I will give a few suggestions on creating a perfect Candy Buffet party, without breaking the bank.  I am planning one myself to add to our holiday party.  I will use the same tips and tricks, just change up the colors to reds and white.  I will be sure to post a storyboard as we get closer to the holiday party.

Last Month, I designed a Candy-themed birthday party for my friend’s daughter. It was adorable and the props were quite affordable.  The vinyl birthday banners are from my shop and range from 12.00-24.00.

Most importantly they are reusable!  Lilly actually hung her Candy buffet in her bedroom after the party-and plans on bringing it out next year for her carnival party.   The smaller garden flag size banner announced the party, and hung from an existing garden flag holder and was a great way to greet the quest.

The Lollipop props are simple circles cute out of foam board, available at craft stores.  Just trace a large plate, use a craft knife to cut the circle.  Apply a thick base coat of your preferred lollipop color, then when the paint is still wet, dip your brush in white paint and swirl from the middle out to the edges.  The lollipop sticks are painted wooden dowels, attached to the lollipop prop with glue gun, and secured with duct tape.  Finally, apply a  glitter clear coat to seal it and add shine.

To create a focal point behind the table, we used simple pink table cloths.  At 1.99 they create a big impact.  Hang them with push pins like drapes to create your sweet shop, coordinate the drapes to your table cloth.

Creating interest with your candy buffet table by using books underneath the tablecloth for height, and glass cake plates and vases above the table.  For containers were used plastic pasta keepers  found at a local discount store for .99 and clear jars from the dollar store for 1.50.  We also added in a few of Moms lovely glass vases.

The key to creating an elegant look with bulk candy is separating the candy by color. The Candy was all purchased from BJ’s wholesale club at bulk http://www.bjs.com/ .    Candy cones, and ribbon wands completed the fun.  A complete candy buffet party package (less candy)  can be found on my site.   http://www.bannerparty.com/item_32/Candy-Buffet-Party-Package-complete-set.htm

Feel free to post a question, I would love to help you create that perfect birthday memory.
